A petty thief with an utter resemblance to a king or warlord is hired as his double. When the warlord later dies the thief is forced to take up arms in his place.

The New king, the thief, is fascinated by his  new job where people are obeying him and behaving respectfully. He plays his role with accuracy. But he can’t get rid of his original characteristics of being a thief.

This play is designed in tiatr format with the live music. This Hindi play is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s film named Kagemusha.

Storyline

When the Boro king is mortally wounded in battle, the great Boundo clan secretly replaces him with the double — so their enemies will not learn that King Boro is dead. Thus begins a period of three years during which the kagemusha is treated by everyone, even his son and his mistresses, as if he were the real Boro. Only his closest advisers know the truth.
