Member Secretary, Mr. Agnelo A. Fernandes of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao and staff paid rich tribute to the father of Tiatr, Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes on Monday i.e. on 29 th August 2022 on the occasion of his 75 th death anniversary. Member Secretary, Mr. Agnelo A. Fernandes said Pai Tiatrist had laid the foundation for the tiatrlovers which has evolved over the years. He added tiatr has not only protected the rich cultural heritage but has provided employment.He added that Pai Tiatrist occupies a special place in the art and culture of the state. Member Secretary said that tiatr is popular all over the world and has made an immense contribution to Konkani and culture and therefore we have to remember its founder late Joao Agostinho Fernandes. Member Secretary of Margao Ravindra Bhavan said the General Council of Ravindra Bhavan as and when constituted will take a resolution with a request to the government to preserve the ancestral house of Joao Agostinho Fernandes, popularly known as Pai Tiatrist. The ancestral house of Pai Tiatrist is a heritage house and which needs to be preserved and we have to protect our history.

Member Secretary informed the staff that the Tiatr Fraternity is an integral part of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao and that we have to treat every Tiatrist with due respect. It is the duty of every staff to maintain the dignity of the Hall which derives the salary of all of us and our family depends upon it. He further said that as a Member Secretary he will strive to maintain and preserve the rich heritage of the Hall and requested the staff to do the same. He also paid rich tribute to the deceased Tiatrist and also praised the Tiatrist Fraternity for keeping the tradition alive till date.
