PRESS NOTE All Goa Dandiya/Garba Group Dance competition followed by ‘Raas Garba”

Ravindra Bhavan, Margao in association with Shree Gujarati Samaj Margao is organizing the all Goa “Dandiya/Garba Group Dance Competition” followed by “Raas Garba” on Saturday, 10th October, 2026 from 5.00p.m. to 10.00p.m. at the Khula Manch of Ravindra Bhavan Margao. The prize details and terms & conditions for the Dandiya/Garba Group Dance competition shall be as follows:

Prizes for the Dance Competition:
 1st Prize — Rs.25,000/-
 2nd Prize — Rs.15,000/-
 3rd Prize — Rs.10,000/-
 1st Consolation prize — Rs.5,000/-
 2nd Consolation prize — Rs.3,000/-

 Dandiya/Garba Group Dance Competition shall start from 5.00 pm onwards. 

Entries are restricted to 12 No. of groups only on a first come first serve basis. Entry forms will be available at the RBM office from 28/09/2026 to 05/10/2026 during office hours.  Each group will be allotted a Minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes for performance.  Minimum participants in one group should be 8 and maximum 12 performers. Competition is open for all age groups.  Recorded music has to be provided by the participants on a pen drive latest by 4.30p.m., on Saturday on 10th October, 2026 at the venue.  Every Group should pay Rs.500/- as entry fee, which will be non- refundable.  The participating groups will be given Rs.2,000/- each towards transportation expenses.  All applications should reach this office on or before Monday 05/10/2026 during office hours. The Raas Garba will be as follows: Raas Garba shall commence from 7.00 pm onwards Prizes are as follows:

Dandiya Queen – Rs.5,000/-
Best Couple – Rs.5,000/-
Best dancer with prop – Rs.3,000/-
Best Costume (Male) – Rs.3,000/-

Spot prizes for Audience – Rs.1,000/-, Rs.2,000/-, Rs.3,000/-, Rs.4,000/- & Rs.5,000/-

The spot prizes will be announced for every one hour and it will start from 6.00p.m. till 10.00p.m. for the Audience. There will be special performances between 6.30p.m. to 7.00p.m. by the participants of the 8 days Dandiya & Garba workshop organized by Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. Raas Garba is open to all with live DJ performance. There will be Gujarati food stalls along with delicious chaat open to the general public.
